If you aren’t familiar with Cameron Moll then it’s perfect timing that I’ve caught your attention. I first ran across Cameron’s site sometime last year and instantly was impressed with how he engaged the design community with his so called “authentic boredom”. After reviewing his site closely, one thing’s for sure, his site is far from boring. I must agree with well-known web standards guru, Jeffrey Zeldman, in that Cameron’s site is “worth any web or graphic designer’s time”. Cameron enthusiastically shares his knowledge in a way which keeps designers inspired.
Needless to say, I was thrilled to hear Cameron and many other reputable professionals in the web industry will be in Orlando in mid-November for the Refresh06 Web Standards Conference. Unfortunately it’s difficult for students and instructors to break free from busy course work, besides most students would agree that they couldn’t afford to attend the event. So we’re excited to announce that Cameron Moll has graciously agree to come visit Valencia Community College next month while he’s in town for the conference so he could speak to our students. Cameron has had a chance to check out some of the student work in flickr and seems to be impressed with what he’s seen.
So don’t miss out on this opportunity to be inspired by one of the web’s leading designers as he provides insight for you to take your design skills to the next level. Join us as Cameron Moll presents us with his engaging and fun presentation, “Good Designers vs. Great Designers”. This event is sure to benefit both print and web designers who strive to be great designers.

Location: Valencia Community College, East Campus, Performing Arts Center (PAC)
This event is FREE to the public.

Thanks to all of you who have posted an interest in attending. Knowing this in advance lets us have a better idea if a larger venue on campus is needed. We’re going to do our best to accommodate everyone who wants to be present to hear Cameron speak. I think every one agrees they want to learn how to become great designers!

Great – I love seeing this response!
I’m seeing some fullsail attendees – I was curious if we have any one else from schools in the area that plan on attending? I remember when David Carson came in town in 2004 we had some people from UCF, Ringling, UF, and Jacksonville come in town too. And yes VCC students – keep posting if you haven’t done so already.
