Check it out!! Each semester in Advanced Graphic Design II, Valencia Graphics students are given the opportunity to design a cover for PRINT Magazine – a leading industry magazine for showcasing impressive work and publishing articles from industry leaders on key issues. I then have the privilege of picking the top 5 solutions (only 5 from each school can be sent) once a year and submitting them to this competition.
Guess what?! I’m proud to announce that Valencia Graphics student, Brandon Maddox’s, cover was chosen as a finalist! So what does this mean? This means that you all have more voting to do! Now of course we would love for you to vote for Brandon because he’s a fellow classmate, however to keep this fair there are other finalists who’s work deserves consideration as well. So here’s all you have to do: Click here, look at each finalist’s work, then vote for the one you feel best describes the theme for this year – “DESIGN CULTURE YOUTH”. Even if you don’t vote for Brandon, being a finalist for an international competition is serious business, so don’t forget to congratulate Brandon the next time you see him!
PRINT’s Student Cover Competition, started in 1964, and is a unique opportunity for students to have their work featured in an award-winning design publication that is distributed internationally. This year, students were asked to design a cover to fit there theme, “DESIGN CULTURE YOUTH,” the focus of their New Visual Artists issue.
If you’re interested in subscribing to PRINT Magazine, keep on the lookout for announcements about student discounted subscriptions from your professors.
