As many of you know, we’re in the process of starting up a student photography group here at Valencia. While the administrative processes are still in the works we wanted to go ahead and hold a photography field trip prior the end of the semester. What better way to get a little inspired before cramming for exams than to escape for a trip out to have a little fun with others interested in photography. Here are the details:
WHERE: Maitland Art Center
WHEN: Wednesday, April 22, 2009, 5-7pm
WHO: Anyone with an interest in photography
I’m sure you all have questions so I’ll start with a few I assume you may be asking and if you have more please let us know.
Do I have to have a camera to come to the field trip?
No. Obviously if you have a camera of any kind bring it with you.
What made you choose Maitland Art Center?
From what I’ve heard Maitland Art Center is a great place to visit in central Florida, and I admit it’s one of the many on my list that I have yet to visit or photograph. I’ve heard many recommend visiting Maitland Art Center which is said to have Mayan inspired architecture throughout the facilities. I did a quick search in flickr and I think these images of Maitland Art Center may inspire you to join us on this field trip.
How much will it cost?
I’ve heard some say it is free to attend, however, on the membership page I see a $3 fee. I’ll see if I can confirm that for everyone soon.
So what will you be teaching us?
This will be an informal field trip so we won’t have any planned “lessons” so to speak, however, I will be on hand with my trusty Nikon and Kayla has confirmed she will be present with her uber cool Canon and so we’ll be able to answer questions, offer advice, and share tips. We welcome those of you with experience to come along for the fun and share your knowledge as well.
Can I bring a friend or family?
Do I have to be a student?
Let us know if you can make it! Hope to see you all there!
